On Sunday, March 30, 2025, Fort Bend County Health and Human Services (Texas) announced that the first confirmed case of measles (for 2025) has been reported in the county.
The case involves an adult female, fifty (50) to sixty (60) years of age. Fort Bend County Health officials report that the case is associated with recent international travel and that they are actively investigating the case.
“Our public health team is actively conducting case investigations and notifying potential contacts,” said Dr. Gale-Lowe, Director and Local Health Authority of Fort Bend County Health and Human Services. “The best way to protect yourself and your loved ones is through vaccination. The measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine is safe, effective, and provides strong protection.”
